Clinical Supervision and Consultation for Social Workers
I provide clinical supervision for social workers and consultation for agencies, by video. I’m a New York Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of clinical experience. I earned my Master of Social Work at New York University and have served on the faculty of the NYU Silver School of Social Work.
My supervision draws on that teaching background and on my training in Somatic Experiencing, EMDR and clinical hypnosis. It suits clinicians who want to bring more body awareness and trauma knowledge into their work.

Supervision for social workers
Supervision is a place to think through cases, sharpen assessment and treatment planning, and look at what the work brings up in you. I work with newer and experienced social workers in New York. Topics often include:
- Case review and treatment planning
- Trauma-informed practice and pacing
- Recognizing and working with dissociation
- Using somatic awareness in talk therapy
- Work with LGBTQ+ clients and people living with HIV
- Ethics, boundaries and clinician self-care
Consultation for agencies
I consult with agencies on clinical questions, particularly trauma-informed care and work with LGBTQ+ clients and people living with HIV. Consultation can focus on specific cases or on broader questions your team is facing, and we’ll agree on a format that fits your agency before we start.
How I work
I aim for supervision that is practical and supportive. We look at the case, and we also look at you in the room: what you notice in your body, where you get stuck, and what your reactions are telling you about the client and about yourself.
I give direct feedback and build on what you already do well. The goal is a clinician who feels steadier and more confident with hard material, not one who depends on supervision for every decision.
Sessions online
Supervision and consultation happen by secure video. To ask about availability and rates, request an appointment or call (917) 570-0053.
Questions about supervision & consultation
Can you supervise LMSWs working toward the LCSW?
I supervise social workers in New York, including newer clinicians. Licensure rules set requirements for the supervisor, the setting and the hours, and those rules can change. Please check the current New York State Education Department guidance for the LCSW, and we’ll review together whether my supervision meets your needs before we begin.
What is the difference between clinical supervision and consultation?
Supervision usually means an ongoing relationship focused on a clinician’s development and caseload, sometimes connected to licensure. Consultation is often shorter or more targeted, such as reviewing a hard case or advising an agency team. Many experienced clinicians use consultation to get a second view on their work without a formal supervision arrangement.
Can supervision include trauma and somatic approaches?
Yes. Many clinicians want to work with trauma more safely, including pacing, recognizing dissociation and noticing body cues in session. I draw on my training in Somatic Experiencing, EMDR and clinical hypnosis. Supervision isn’t a substitute for formal training in those methods, but it can help you use trauma knowledge in the work you already do.
Do you offer consultation for Somatic Experiencing students?
Yes. I offer personal sessions and individual and group consultations for Somatic Experiencing students at all levels of training. You’ll find more on the Somatic Experiencing page, or you can call (917) 570-0053 to ask about current availability.
Ready to talk about starting therapy?
